We present to you the Dollop Automat Studio.
We chose ‘Automat’ for this black and white self studio concept as we wanted to honour our vintage aesthetic roots. The word is inspired by the Bosco Automat, the very first automated photo booth invented by Conrad Bernitt in 1890, which led to the proliferation of chemical-based analogue photo booths. You might have seen names such as Fotoautomat (literally German for ‘Photo Booth’) or Fotomat (a retail chain of drive-thru photo development kiosks in the USA, which peaked in the early 1980s) popping up in Singapore (SG) in early 2021.
The Dollop Automat is a modern reinvention of our vintage roots, combining the timeless quality of studio quality black and white prints with state-of-the-art technology.

How Does It Work?
We make you look good with professional-grade cameras and studio lighting. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your booking to orientate yourself and for a quick briefing by our studio assistants. We may have a small selection of suitable props for your use which will be cleaned and disinfected after each session.
You will also receive a complimentary plastic sleeve for each of your photo prints.
